In pipeline heat tracing and tank heating applications in chemical, metallurgical, and other industries, maintenance personnel often encounter problems such as slow heating, local overheating, and short component life. For example, a reactor jacket heater in a chemical plant frequently tripped, and inspection after disassembly revealed severe coking on the surface of the heating tubes, resulting in deteriorated heat transfer. Such failures are often related to improper power configuration and crude control strategies. The DJR-120 industrial electric heater is designed for the above operating conditions, starting from parameter matching and protection logic to reduce maintenance frequency.
The heater has a rated power of 120 kW, an operating voltage of 380 V three-phase, and a frequency of 50 Hz. The heating element uses nickel-chromium alloy heating wire, the insulation layer is high-purity magnesium oxide, and the shell is 304 stainless steel or 316L (selected according to medium corrosiveness). The design pressure is 1.6 MPa, and the operating temperature is ≤300°C. The protection rating is IP54 (terminal compartment IP65). The control cabinet has a built-in PID adjustment module, supports 4-20 mA signal input, and can receive feedback from an outlet temperature transmitter. The temperature control accuracy is ±1.5°C. The overheat protection setpoint is adjustable, with a factory default of 260°C.
The equipment automatically adjusts output power based on the outlet temperature sensor signal to make the medium temperature uniform. When the heating element overheats, an independent overheat protection device immediately cuts off the heating power supply to avoid material coking, deterioration, carbonization, or damage to the element. In addition, the heater is equipped with phase loss, overcurrent, and short circuit protection. On-site maintenance personnel can view real-time current, temperature, and fault codes through the control cabinet panel for quick troubleshooting.
The DJR-120 uses flange installation, with flange specifications DN80 or DN100, customizable according to pipeline diameter. For highly corrosive liquids, it is recommended to use a 316L shell and titanium flange. For viscous media, it is recommended to add stirring or perform regular cleaning. During wiring, reliable grounding must be ensured, and the power cable cross-section should be selected according to current-carrying capacity. Before initial commissioning, insulation resistance should be checked (≥20 MΩ), and the temperature should be raised gradually to drive off moisture.
