The JRB-12 stainless steel explosion-proof heater is designed for heating applications requiring an explosion-proof rating. Both the housing and the heating tube are made of stainless steel, and the terminal enclosure is designed with an explosion-proof structure, making it suitable for heating media in environments containing flammable and explosive gases. When procurement personnel conduct solution comparisons, they can compare it item by item with ordinary stainless steel electric heaters, cast aluminum heating plates, thermal oil furnaces, and other options.
Ordinary stainless steel electric heaters do not have an explosion-proof terminal enclosure; the terminals are exposed or only provided with ordinary protection, posing an ignition risk in flammable gas environments. The JRB-12 independently seals the wiring section, controls the machining precision of the flameproof surface according to standards, and uses explosion-proof cable glands for incoming cables, making it suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous locations. In terms of protection rating, the ordinary type is typically IP54, while this model can reach IP65, withstanding washing and condensation. The trade-off is that its volume and weight are higher than an ordinary type of the same power, and installation space must be reserved for assembly and disassembly.
Cast aluminum heating plates provide uniform heat transfer, but their surface temperature is limited, and they are not suitable for heating liquids with corrosive media. Ceramic heaters heat up quickly but are brittle and easily damaged in vibrating applications. The JRB-12 uses a stainless steel sheath, offering better corrosion resistance than carbon steel and higher mechanical strength than ceramics. It is suitable for heating media in storage tanks and pipelines, and can also be used for heating still air. For flowing liquids requiring rapid heating, its thermal response speed is not as fast as directly immersed bare tubes, so the surface heat load should be calculated based on the medium flow rate during selection.
This model has a voltage rating of 220V or 380V, with a single-unit power of 1kW to 6kW, and installation dimensions can be customized according to tank flange specifications. The heating tube material is 304 or 316L stainless steel, with commonly used tube diameters of Φ12mm and Φ16mm. The insulation resistance is not less than 50MΩ, and the withstand voltage test is conducted at 1.5 times the rated voltage. Temperature control can be equipped with an explosion-proof thermostat or connected to a DCS for remote monitoring. The equipment has a compact structure, flange or threaded installation, complete accessories, a short installation cycle, and is relatively convenient to operate and maintain.
Confirm the medium name, concentration, and maximum operating temperature, and select the tube material accordingly; confirm the on-site explosion-proof area classification and gas group, and verify the explosion-proof marking; confirm the installation interface dimensions and insertion depth to avoid interference with internal tank components; confirm whether the control method is built-in temperature control or external. Once the above information is clarified, rework caused by selection deviations can be reduced.
