In process industries such as petroleum, chemical, and pharmaceutical, low-temperature fluid media in pipelines need to enter an electric heating vessel under pressure, absorb heat generated by electric heating elements along specific heat exchange channels, and reach the outlet temperature required by the process. When selecting models, procurement personnel often face multiple considerations such as power matching, flange specifications, material compatibility, and medium characteristics. This article uses a problem-solution approach to outline the key points for selecting flange-type electric heating tubes.
In procurement practice, the following deviations are common: estimating power only by vessel volume while ignoring medium flow rate, specific heat capacity, and temperature rise requirements, resulting in insufficient heating time or high energy consumption; mismatch between flange rating and pipeline pressure, posing a risk of seal failure; failure to consider medium corrosiveness in the material of electric heating elements, affecting service life; and mismatch between the protection rating of the terminal enclosure and the installation environment, increasing maintenance frequency.
To address the above problems, it is recommended to determine model parameters in the following steps: first, calculate the required heating power based on medium flow rate, inlet and outlet temperatures, and specific heat capacity, and retain a 10%-20% adjustment margin; second, select the flange nominal pressure, sealing face type, and material according to pipeline design pressure and temperature, with common specifications including DN50-DN500 and PN0.6-PN6.4; third, the surface material of the electric heating tube can be carbon steel, stainless steel 304/316L, titanium, etc., and must match the corrosiveness of the medium; finally, determine the protection rating (IP54/IP65) and explosion-proof rating (such as Exd IIB T4) of the terminal enclosure according to the installation environment.
The FLG-18 flange-type electric heating tube may refer to the following parameters: rated voltage 220V/380V, power range 3-200kW, flange specifications DN80-DN300, design pressure ≤2.5MPa, design temperature ≤400℃, electric heating element material stainless steel 304/316L, protection rating IP65, explosion-proof rating Exd IIB T4 (optional). Specific parameters shall be confirmed according to actual working conditions.
This product is suitable for scenarios such as heat tracing of petroleum transmission pipelines, feed preheating of chemical reactors, heating of pharmaceutical process water, and heating of heat transfer media in textile dyeing and printing. During installation, ensure reliable sealing of flange connections, orient the terminal enclosure for easy maintenance, and ground according to electrical specifications.
