Field Problem: In explosive gas environments, design and selection engineers often encounter issues such as corrosion of heating element housings, seal failure of terminal enclosures, and uncontrolled surface temperatures. For example, a petrochemical plant area once experienced internal heating wire short circuits due to moisture when ordinary heating rods lacked sufficient protection rating. The FBR-52 stainless steel explosion-proof heating rod addresses such operating conditions by providing solutions in three aspects: material, structure, and control logic.
The FBR-52 housing is made of 316L stainless steel, which has better chloride ion corrosion resistance than 304 material. The terminal enclosure adopts an explosion-proof design with a protection rating of IP66, suitable for IIA, IIB, and IIC explosive gas environments. High-purity magnesium oxide powder is filled between the heating element and the housing, densely formed through a tube shrinking process, with insulation resistance ≥100MΩ and dielectric strength of 1500V/1min without breakdown.
This model features a built-in K-type thermocouple, combined with an external PID temperature control system, to adjust output power in real time based on the medium temperature. When the medium temperature reaches the process setpoint, the control system achieves stepless power regulation through a solid-state relay, avoiding thermal shock caused by frequent start-stop cycles. Rated voltage 220V/380V, power range 1kW to 6kW, surface load ≤2.5W/cm², effectively reducing scaling tendency.
The FBR-52 offers multiple mounting interfaces including threaded M20×1.5, M27×2, and flange DN25, suitable for reactors, storage tanks, pipeline heat tracing, and other scenarios. Horizontal or vertical installation is recommended to ensure the heating section is fully immersed in the medium. Regularly check the aging of the terminal enclosure sealing ring and measure insulation resistance with a megohmmeter; when it falls below 10MΩ, shut down for maintenance.
Compared to ordinary stainless steel heating rods (IP54), the FBR-52 offers improvements in explosion-proof certification, corrosion resistance grade, and insulation life. Applicable ambient temperature -20℃ to +60℃, maximum measurable medium temperature 300℃. During selection, confirm the area explosion-proof grade, medium composition, and required thermal power to avoid overload operation.
