The JHR-80 shell and tube heat exchanger is designed for media with a solids content higher than 5% and can handle process fluids containing particles and prone to fouling. When the medium flow rate fluctuation range exceeds ±15%, it is recommended to specify this separately during the selection stage so that the flow velocity distribution in the shell side and tube side can be calculated. The equipment is suitable for scenarios such as cooling of chemical intermediates, heat exchange in pharmaceutical processes, and metallurgical circulating water systems.
When the medium temperature reaches the set value required by the process, the control system adjusts the output power of the electric heater based on the temperature sensor signal after PID calculation, thereby achieving temperature control of the resistive load of the heating element. This adjustment method can match media with different viscosities and heat capacities and reduce the impact of temperature overshoot on the process. The materials of the tube side and shell side can be selected as carbon steel or stainless steel combinations according to the corrosiveness of the medium.
When selecting the model, procurement personnel need to verify the design pressure, design temperature, heat exchange area, and connection specifications. Compared with plate heat exchangers, the JHR-80 shell and tube heat exchanger is suitable for media with a solids content higher than 5%, but its heat transfer coefficient is relatively lower. If on-site space is limited or the temperature difference is small, the specifications should be determined only after comprehensively evaluating the heat exchange area and pressure drop. It is recommended to require the supplier to provide calculation explanations for the flow velocities of the tube side and shell side.
