In the cooling circuit of a chemical reactor, operators often find that when the temperature fluctuates periodically due to the heat released by the reaction, the return oil temperature still rises from 45°C to 62°C even though the cooling water valve is fully open. This phenomenon is mostly related to the failure to calculate the medium flow velocity and pressure drop in the plate channels during heat exchanger selection, and local overheating must be avoided.
Design and selection personnel should, based on the characteristics of the process medium, calculate the flow velocity and pressure drop in the plate channels to ensure that the heat exchanger can maintain stable heat transfer capacity under fluctuating reaction heat release conditions. The plate channel design of the YBJ-105 diffusion-bonded plate heat exchanger balances flow velocity and pressure drop, making it suitable for applications where the pressure fluctuation of the cooling water system is relatively small.
During operation, the inlet and outlet temperatures, pressures, and flow rates should be recorded, and changes in heat transfer efficiency should be judged by comparing with design conditions. If the return oil temperature continues to rise while the opening of the cooling water valve remains unchanged, the plate fouling or blockage should be checked. This model of diffusion-bonded plate heat exchanger has a detachable structure for easy cleaning, reducing downtime.
The equipment is suitable for scenarios such as chemical reactor cooling and hydraulic station return oil cooling, and is especially suitable for retrofit projects with limited space and compact layout requirements. During selection, the medium name, flow rate, inlet and outlet temperatures, and allowable pressure drop should be provided to calculate the plate channel parameters.
