Design and selection personnel should first confirm the air volume to be handled by the heat exchanger and the required heat transfer rate. The GCH-63 finned tube heat exchanger is suitable for working conditions with an air volume range of 2000–8000 m³/h. The base tubes of the heat exchange tubes are Φ16 mm seamless steel tubes, and the fins are aluminum corrugated fins. The fin spacing can be selected between 2.5 and 3.5 mm according to the dust content of the medium. Heat transfer calculation must take into account the inlet and outlet temperature requirements of the hot side and cold side; a margin of 10%–15% is recommended.
Ambient temperature and relative humidity directly affect material selection. When the ambient temperature is -20 to +60°C and the relative humidity is below 80%, carbon steel base tubes with aluminum fins and anti-rust surface treatment can be used. If used in scenarios such as waste heat recovery from drying lines where slightly corrosive gases are present, stainless steel tubes or additional fin surface coatings are recommended for the base tubes. For working conditions where the relative humidity remains above 80% for long periods or condensate water is present, a material combination with a higher corrosion resistance grade should be selected, and drainage structure design should be considered.
After the equipment is in place, turn the temperature knob to the required value and observe whether the signal lamp displays normally to determine whether the control circuit is connected. During the commissioning stage, the temperature difference between inlet and outlet air should be measured. Taking a waste heat recovery project on a drying line as an example, the inlet-outlet air temperature difference is required to be no less than 25°C. If the temperature difference is lower than the design value, check whether the fins have accumulated dust, whether the air volume deviates from the rated value, or whether the bypass valve has internal leakage.
During selection, the length, width, and height dimensions of the on-site installation space must be verified. The GCH-63 offers both horizontal and vertical airflow directions, and the pipe connection orientation can be specified at the time of ordering according to the piping layout. A maintenance space of no less than 400 mm is recommended on the fin side for subsequent cleaning and maintenance.
