When finned tube heat exchangers are used in industrial waste heat recovery, drying lines, and similar applications, the fin material and surface treatment directly affect service life. For conventional operating conditions with ambient temperatures of -20 to +60°C and relative humidity below 80%, carbon steel base tubes with aluminum fins and anti-rust surface treatment can be used. For applications involving slightly corrosive gases, such as waste heat recovery on drying lines, it is recommended to use stainless steel base tubes or add a coating to the fin surface to improve corrosion resistance.
Fin surface condition has a direct impact on heat transfer capacity. During on-site inspections, if rust spots or coating peeling are found on the fin surface, samples should be taken promptly for analysis to determine whether material replacement or additional protective measures are needed. Dust accumulation and scaling also reduce heat transfer efficiency, so regular inspection and cleaning are required.
It is recommended to record the inlet-outlet temperature difference and changes in air volume as the basis for the cleaning cycle. When the temperature difference decreases significantly or the air volume drops, it indicates that the fins may be fouled or blocked, and cleaning should be arranged promptly. Avoid damaging the fins during cleaning; soft brushes or low-pressure water rinsing are recommended.
During selection, confirm the names, flow rates, inlet and outlet temperatures, working pressure, and allowable pressure drop of the hot-side and cold-side media. Also provide on-site environmental conditions, such as ambient temperature, humidity, and corrosive gas composition. The GCH-105 finned tube heat exchanger can be customized according to operating conditions with base tube material (carbon steel, stainless steel) and fin material (aluminum, copper); fin tube specifications and arrangement can also be adjusted to meet different heat transfer requirements.
The GCH-105 finned tube heat exchanger is suitable for drying line waste heat recovery, air handling units, industrial cooling, and similar applications. In environments with slightly corrosive gases, it is recommended to use stainless steel base tubes or coated fins, and to regularly inspect the surface condition to ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment.
