When using electric heat tracing systems for thermal insulation of pipelines and other equipment, installation is very important after the preliminary design and selection are completed. Proper installation steps can shorten the construction period and avoid waste of electric heat tracing cables. Previously, customers inquired about the installation sequence of electric heat tracing cable construction. Below, we introduce the construction sequence of electric heat tracing cables to facilitate more convenient and correct installation of a complete electric heat tracing system. 1. Pipeline installation: The electric heat tracing cable needs to be laid along the pipeline, leaving surplus at bends, valves, and other places. 2. Tank installation: When installing the tank, start from the top and proceed to the bottom, installing from top to bottom to place the power connection end at the bottom. 3. When encountering places where wiring is needed, wiring must be done in a timely manner, especially at corners, to prevent damage to the electric heat tracing cable. 4. Adjust the length of the electric heat tracing cable, leave an appropriate surplus at necessary positions, lay the cable flat on the pipeline, and use pressure-sensitive tape for preliminary stabilization. For tank installation, connect to the terminal junction box and fix it at the bottom of the tank. Lay the electric heat tracing cable flat on the tank and install it spirally from bottom to top. Maintain parallel distance between cables. Fix with pressure-sensitive tape or aluminum foil tape. 5. When fixing the electric heat tracing cable, pay attention to adjusting its length and surplus. Since the cable is laid along the pipeline with appropriate surplus during installation, only minor adjustments are needed. 8. Use pressure-sensitive tape for precise stabilization. If necessary, aluminum foil tape can be used to wrap all or part of the electric heat tracing cable. When installing the electric heat tracing cable, the insulation layer must not be damaged, and it should be close to the heating body to improve thermal efficiency. If the heat tracing body is a non-metallic material, apply aluminum foil tape to enhance contact heat conduction range, then secure with cable ties; do not use metal wire. Special attention: It is strictly forbidden to mix steam heat tracing and electric heat tracing systems. Return to Sohu, see more
