Advantages of Electric Heating Thermal Oil Furnace Technology Compared to Steam Heating
As is well known, industries such as chemical, plastic, rubber, textile, and food processing require a stable high-temperature heat source during their heating processes. Currently, in China's industrial production and scientific research, steam heating is the primary method used. Steam, as a heat transfer medium, has advantages such as high latent heat and rapid heat exchange. However, there is a serious energy waste phenomenon during the generation, transmission, and heat exchange of steam. The main situations are analyzed as follows.
A. Loss during condensation.
a. Some steam is discharged together with condensate, carrying a large amount of thermal energy during the discharge process.
b. The recovery rate of condensate is low. According to relevant data, the current recovery rate in China is about 30% (over 80% in developed countries). The heat contained in condensate accounts for 25% of the total steam heat, so the heat loss from unrecovered condensate is about 17% of the total steam heat.
B. Steam boilers require frequent or regular blowdown, resulting in about 2% of heat being discharged and unrecoverable.
C. Due to the high pressure of steam heating, long pipelines, numerous valve joints, high sealing requirements, and difficult maintenance, leakage phenomena such as running, emitting, dripping, and leaking inevitably occur, also causing heat loss.
    Organic heat carrier heating technology uses organic fluids as the heat transfer medium to complete the conversion, transfer, application, and control of thermal energy, thereby achieving optimal heating process conditions. It is also a new technology for thermal energy conversion. This technology has only a sixty-year history in China. It began to be introduced and applied in China in the 1970s.
    Organic heat carrier heating technology is applicable to any heating equipment and occasions in industrial production and scientific research heating processes. The traditional steam heating method, which has been used widely and for a long time, will gradually be replaced by organic heat carrier heating technology.
