The corresponding explosion-proof marking shall be selected based on the on-site hazardous area classification (Zone 0, Zone 1, Zone 2) and the category of flammable media (gas group, temperature class). The terminal enclosure of stainless steel explosion-proof heating rods usually adopts a flameproof structure, with a common protection rating of IP65. During selection, verify that the Ex marking on the product nameplate is consistent with the area requirements, and confirm that the cable entry specification matches the on-site junction box.
Power selection shall be calculated based on the initial temperature of the medium, target temperature, heating time, and heat dissipation conditions. The surface load is recommended to be controlled within a reasonable range to avoid local overheating that may cause coking of the medium or shorten the service life of the heating rod. For solid oils such as melted asphalt and paraffin, the voltage should be reduced during use, and after complete melting, the voltage should be raised to the rated value for operation to reduce startup impact.
The heating rod should be immersed in the medium or installed in a flow area to avoid dry burning. For horizontal installation, ensure that the heating section is fully immersed; for vertical installation, reserve sufficient withdrawal space for maintenance. Sealing gaskets should be installed at flange or threaded connections, and the tightening torque shall be executed according to the manufacturer's recommended value. Regularly check the sealing performance of the terminal enclosure and the insulation resistance, and replace aging parts in a timely manner.
When there is no heating, first measure the power supply voltage and circuit continuity, then check whether the overheat protection has tripped; for leakage tripping, check the insulation resistance and investigate moisture in the terminal enclosure. When replacing components, the power supply must be cut off and the sealing parts of the explosion-proof enclosure must be confirmed to be intact.
