In the oil storage and transportation processes of industries such as petroleum and chemicals, during winter or low-temperature environments, oil products experience increased viscosity and poor fluidity due to temperature drops, often causing difficulties when being output from oil tanks. This phenomenon is mostly related to insufficient medium temperature inside the tank, requiring heating equipment to maintain the oil temperature and ensure smooth transportation.
When selecting a model, procurement personnel should first clarify the following points: medium type (such as crude oil, heavy oil, lubricating oil, etc.), the working temperature of the medium and the required maintenance temperature, whether there is an explosive gas mixture in the on-site environment (to determine the explosion-proof grade accordingly), power supply voltage and power requirements, installation method (such as flange or threaded connection), as well as the tank opening size and heater insertion depth. These parameters will directly affect the structural design and material selection of the heater.
Stainless steel explosion-proof heaters use explosion-proof junction boxes and stainless steel electric heating elements, suitable for occasions where flammable and explosive gases may exist. The surface load of the electric heating tube is reasonably designed to avoid local overheating that could cause medium coking. For medium and low temperature working conditions, the terminal opening of the electric heating tube can be sealed with silicone to prevent liquid from penetrating into the tube from the terminal opening, but its allowable working temperature usually does not exceed 220°C, and instantaneous temperature does not exceed 250°C. If the medium temperature is higher, other sealing forms should be selected.
This type of heater, combined with temperature sensors and control systems, can achieve faster thermal response and higher temperature control accuracy, helping to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Specific thermal efficiency values need to be comprehensively evaluated based on actual working conditions, insulation conditions, and control methods. During selection, thermal calculation data can be requested from the manufacturer.
Stainless steel explosion-proof heaters are commonly used for medium heating and insulation of equipment such as oil tanks, storage tanks, and reactors, especially suitable for oil transportation systems requiring explosion-proof design. When selecting a model, it is recommended to combine medium characteristics, environmental requirements, and electrical specifications, and determine the final model and parameters after full communication with the supplier.
